The tank
Choose the tank first. Its volume and water type decide what the rest of the list can hold.

Equipment and hardscape
Most tropical tanks need a filter, a heater and a light, and a planted tank may want CO₂. The substrate, rock and wood go in before the water, so they come early on the list.

Livestock and plants
The stocking band uses adult sizes, so a plan that reads Comfortable still fits once the fish grow. Cycle the tank until ammonia and nitrite read 0 before the first fish goes in.

The planner runs the same estimate as the stocking calculator. It weighs adult size, minimum tank size, temperament and group size against the volume you set.
Is a cost the price of one or the whole line?
The whole line. A school of 12 cardinal tetras takes one cost, the total you expect to pay for all 12.
Can I share a plan?
Yes. Copy the link from the save card, and anyone who opens it sees the same plan without an account.
